  Born in Parma, Italy, Dr. Ahmed Ballo has spent the last fifteen years, study, working, and travelling between continents. Dr. Ballo is a Board Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia.

  Dr. Ballo, a surgically trained prosthodontist, earned his specialist training, MSc and Diploma in Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

  He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2002, followed by  one year  of  internship at Garyounis University. After  several successful years in private practice, he moved to Finland to pursue further postgraduate education. He received a PhD degree as well as clinical training in implantology as a scholar of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) in 2008 at the University of Turku, Finland. He subsequently became a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden from 2008-2012.

  In 2012, he moved to Vancouver and became a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry. In recognition of his excellent and contribution to UBC undergraduate dental students’ education, he has received three consecutive teaching awards for the academic year 2014, 2015, and 2016, an exceptionally remarkable achievement given his short time at UBC.

  Dr. Ballo is a fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and a member of the Canadian Dental Association, British Columbia Society of Prosthodontics, British Columbia Dental Association,  and American College of Prosthodontist. Dr. Ballo is the director of the Vancouver Digital ITI Study Club.

  A widely published and internationally respected clinician and lecturer, Dr. Ballo’s main focus within clinical practice, teaching, and research is esthetic and implant dentistry as well as well as the implementation of cutting-edge digital technologies in complex implant oral rehabilitation.

  Dr. Ballo has published more than 50 scientific papers, and book chapters, and authored a textbook in the field of implant dentistry and related research. His excellence has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards and honours, including Dr. Donald Brunette Award in Dentistry, Dr. S. Wah Leung Award, and European Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Doctoral Award (EDA).

  Dr. Ruby Bhullar completed his undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Science & the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. After only 3 years of undergraduate studies he was one of very few students to be accepted into the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and subsequently obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2007 to become a practicing & licensed dentist at only 23 years old.

  In 2013 Dr. Bhullar received accreditation as an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AFAAID). To this day implant dentistry and oral surgery continue to be practice areas of focus for Dr. Bhullar, having placed thousands of dental implants over his 20+ year career.

  Dr. Bhullar has been an established Invisalign provider since 2008 having treated thousands of orthodontic patients with both braces and clear aligners. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Clear Aligners (FAACA), a credential given to very few dentists worldwide.

  Dr. Bhullar has extensive experience in many forms of sedation, including Oral, Nitrous Oxide, IntraNasal, and IV Sedation. This allows him to perform longer, more intricate surgeries for patients with complex treatment needs and also helps him provide treatment for highly anxious patients in a more relaxed atmosphere who would otherwise be unable to undergo treatment.

  Staying current with modern technology is one of the pillars of his clinical practice. Dr. Bhullar regularly employs lasers, CBCT scans, and 3D digital scanners in the quest for the ultimate patient outcomes. He enjoys and practices all aspects of general dentistry, but his areas of interest are IV Sedation, Oral Surgery, Dental Implantology, and Clear Aligner Orthodontics (Invisalign).

  Prior to earning his degree in dentistry, he studied in Electrical Engineering and received his Bachelor’s degree with distinction at the University of British of Columbia. He then attended and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

  As a former engineer, he is a strong believer in implementing the latest technologies to obtain the highest quality of care for his patients. He enjoys attending post-degree seminars and continuing education classes to add to his skill sets.

  Dr. Gill has done much to assist in educating the public about dentistry, from being a featured guest on numerous radio and television talk shows to creating and hosting The Dental Show, a radio call-in program in Vancouver. He has been and continues to be an adviser, clinical tester and consultant for selected dental laboratories and dental materials companies. He is a technical adviser for dental office software.

  Dr. Gill has been performing difficult cosmetic and surgical cases since 1996, combining his expertise in orthodontics, restorative & cosmetic dentistry and implantology to create natural smiles. Dr. Gill has worked with 11 different Vancouver and Lower Mainland dental offices last year, performing extractions as well as placing implants, bone grafting and assisting dentists in learning about new implant and restoration techniques.

  Dr. Gill has been working with implants since 1993 and has taken many lectures and hands-on courses on implants, surgery and bone grafting, travelling to the US and to Germany to study with Dr. Paul Weigl at the University of Frankfurt School of Dentistry.

  Dr. Chris Lee grew up and lived most of his life in Vancouver. After finishing elementary and high school in the Vancouver area, he attended the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Sc. (Pharm)) followed by a Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine (D.M.D).

  Dr. Chris enjoys providing all aspects of dentistry, including cosmetic and surgical dentistry. He has an extensive experience in wisdom teeth extractions and implant dentistry, areas in which he is heavily involved in teaching at the WISE Institute that he co-founded. He also enjoys using the newest technology involving Invisalign to align and restore patients’ smiles. Dr. Chris is a Gold Plus level provider with Invisalign. For several years, he has been a part-time clinical instructor at UBC Faculty of Dentistry, where he shares his passion, knowledge, and experience with the senior year dental students.

  Dr. Chris strives to deliver the highest quality care possible. Therefore, he is deeply committed to various continuing education and has accumulated over a thousand hours of continuing education hours over the years. In 2017, he was awarded a fellowship with the largest implant organization, the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI), to highlight his achievements.

Beautiful weather and opportunity then took him to Los Angeles, California, where he practiced for many years honing his skills in various areas of dentistry. He decided to start his own practise in Langley, and provide care in the methods that he believed in for his patients. Dr. Kumar believes Modern Dentistry is the key to providing patients quality dentistry- making the most effective use of their time, while minimizing discomfort.
